My Ultimate Halloween Mixtape
When I first moved to the Seattle area, I lived with my sister and brother-in-law for a year right before I started renting my own place. That first Halloween with them, I remember my brother-in-law (Kyle) turned on Monster Mash one afternoon when we were all headed out somewhere. It was early September. Every year after that, I’ve usually spent the holiday with them, because they always start early and don’t hold back (without going overboard either).
I’m a big fan of Halloween too, mainly for nostalgia reasons- getting to watch the iconic movies, listen to spooky songs, decorate, etc. But if you throw a scary movie my way, better watch out because it’s coming right back at ya.
So this past week I’ve been compiling a few tunes, arranging the ultimate mysterious Halloween mixtape to play around the house. Yeah it’s not a “traditional” Halloween mixtape, but there’s still some oldies, and newbies to get a spooky vibe. We’ll definitely be filling the air with it- along with some good cocktails, comfort food, and of course a few sweets…
What are your plans for Halloween this year? Enjoy the music!
P.s. check out the spooky treats I made last year (they’re pretty and delicious).
