4 Hacks to Drink More Water At Home

Juggling this new stay at home life, I’m starting to realize my usual water intake has slowly been declining. I’ve always gone above and beyond to ensure that I drink water at all times throughout the day. Without it I turn in to a foggy mess and the headaches come on in full swing. But something about when you get busy toggling cooking, working, chores, etc, water seems to get pushed aside. (But coffee, now that’s never forgotten).

Before I dive in to a few of these hacks, I want to point out that these are also ways that remind me to keep refilling throughout the day. It’s not just a one and done type of situation when trying to keep a steady water intake. Especially this time of year, I like to freshen it up with versions of mocktails (throwing in some mint leaves, basil, limes, etc). Then when I keep refilling the same glass I feel way more hydrated versus trying to sip lukewarm water all day.

With that being said, scroll on to see some of my favorite hacks to drink more water while we’re all at home:
1.Enhance the Flavors
Without adding unnecessary sugar, go for natural sweeteners such as fresh fruit, lemons or limes. My favorite mojito inspired concoction is muddling mint and lime together with water and a handful of ice (so refreshing!) Another favorite is adding a splash of flavored sparkling water. I’m a #rideordie Spindrift fan, so I drink grapefruit almost on a daily basis.
2. Invest in Reusable Straws
Essential not only for water, but any drink. I use them when cracking open a Spindrift, morning smoothies, and my glass water bottle. I find that I’m more likely to take a sip off a straw than open up a water bottle when deep in thought (I know, so tasking). Grab the set I have here!

3. Drink a Big Glass First Thing in the Morning
First thing upon waking, I either fill a large glass or drink out of my water bottle before a workout. I know that in doing this, I’ll feel more hydrated then if I accidentally forget and don’t get around to it until later.
4. Keep a Water Bottle on Your Desk At All Times
If I don’t keep a full water bottle at my desk, I’ll completely forget to drink any water at all. Having easy access I can visualize subconsciously keeps me drinking all day long. This hack is an essential one for my daily routine. I love this pretty glass one here from UO.
